The sounding pipe head is a passive, mechanical component. Its primary function is to provide a watertight and airtight seal for the sounding pipe when not in use, preventing the ingress of water or the escape of tank contents/vapors. It is designed to be easily opened for sounding operations and securely closed afterward. A critical requirement is passing a seal test to ensure integrity
