1. Product Definition & Working Principle
A Marine Rubber Plug is a quarter-turn rotary valve where the closing element is a cylindrical or tapered plug completely jacketed in a high-performance rubber compound.
When the plug is rotated 90°, its rubber surface compresses uniformly against the body seat, creating a 100% tight seal both upstream and downstream.
The full-port design eliminates flow restriction and allows pigging or easy cleaning.
The top stem seal is also rubber-sleeved, providing an additional environmental stem barrier without requiring gland adjustment.

Body & Plug Core: Ductile iron, cast steel, or bronze, selected for strength and marine service compatibility.
Rubber Lining/Jacket: EPDM, NBR, or Viton® fully vulcanized onto the plug; EPDM is standard for seawater and ballast systems.
Sealing Mechanism: The elastomeric jacket is interference-fitted to the body, ensuring zero leakage at full rated pressure without relying on line pressure.
Corrosion Protection: All external metal parts receive a marine-grade epoxy coating (typically ≥250 μm DFT) suitable for C5-M high-corrosivity environments.
No Body Cavity: The rubber-jacketed plug fills the body cavity completely, preventing media entrapment and eliminating the risk of internal freezing or solids build-up.
