Overview

The Marine Mud Box is an important coarse filtration device in marine piping systems. It is typically installed at the suction end of a pump to intercept and settle solid particles—such as silt, rust and debris—carried in seawater, bilge water or fresh water, thereby protecting downstream pumps and piping equipment from wear and blockages.

Key Functions

Its core function is to be installed at key positions such as the bilge water suction pipeline, the suction end of the seawater pump, and the water inlet of the cooling system. Through the built-in high-precision filter screen structure, it intercepts various solid impurities mixed in the pipeline, including sediment, welding slag, cotton yarn, plastic debris, and rust particles. This prevents these hard debris from directly entering precision components such as water pumps, valves and hydraulic equipment, avoids failures such as impeller jamming, pipeline blockage and sealing surface scratching, and greatly reduces the operation and maintenance risks of the ship's pipeline system. In addition to the conventional bilge dewatering scenario, it is also compatible with a variety of marine fluid pipelines such as the ballast water system, fire water system and domestic sewage treatment system. During the long-distance ocean navigation and operation under severe sea conditions of the ship, it can effectively filter marine floating impurities and bilge deposited sludge entrained in seawater, building the first line of defense for the continuous operation of the ship-wide fluid system.

Main Production Requirement

Strength: The mud box body should be leak-free under 1.5P hydraulic pressure.

Protection: Components made of carbon structural steel should be galvanized after machining, and the zinc layer thickness should meet the requirements of CB/Z343-2005.

Dimensions and Tolerances: The wall thickness of the cast mud box should meet the requirements of CB/T3927, and the wall thickness tolerance should meet the requirements of GB/T600.

The linear dimensional tolerance of the mud box should meet the requirements of grade m in GB/T1804-2000.

Geometric Tolerances: The geometric tolerances of the mud box should meet the requirements of grade H in GB/T1184-1996.

Appearance: The appearance of the mud box should meet the requirements of GB/T600.

Weight: Its positive deviation from the theoretical weight should not exceed 4%.
