Marine Foot Valve
Marine foot valve is a check valve installed at the bottom end of a ship's pump suction line. Its primary function is to maintain the prime of the pipeline and prevent backflow after the pump stops, thereby protecting the pump body and reducing the risks of cavitation and dry running. Unlike standard foot valves, marine foot valves must comply with marine piping standards such as JIS; they are typically constructed from bronze or cast iron, and their flange ratings must match the ship's piping system (commonly JIS 5K or 10K).
