Overview

A marine filter is a critical component in a ship’s piping system used to filter out impurities from fluids. Its primary function is to intercept and remove solid particles, colloidal matter, and biological impurities from media such as fuel oil, lubricating oil, seawater, and compressed air, thereby preventing these impurities from entering critical equipment such as pumps, valves, instruments, and engines. This ensures the stable operation of the ship’s propulsion and auxiliary systems and extends the service life of the equipment.

Filter Categories

Filter Media	Oil Filter	Used in fuel and lubrication systems. Since oil is prone to contamination by impurities such as metal shavings and dust, these filters are essential for protecting the main engine, generator, and hydraulic systems.
Filter Media	Water Filte	Primarily used in seawater cooling systems, ballast water systems, and fire suppression systems. They are used to intercept suspended biological impurities in seawater—such as sand particles, seaweed, fish, and shrimp—to prevent clogging of coolers or damage to seawater pumps.
Product Structure	Simplex Filter	The design is simple, consisting of a single filter element. It is suitable for pipelines that allow for shutdowns for maintenance or intermittent operation. Common models include the CBM1133-82, with nominal diameters ranging from DN15 to DN400 and a working pressure of ≤0.5 MPa.
	Duplex Filter	Features a parallel design with two independent filter elements and is equipped with a switching valve. When one filter element becomes clogged, the system can switch to the other element without interrupting oil or water supply, enabling filter cleaning or replacement without shutdown and ensuring high reliability. Common models include CBM1132-82.
	Y Type Filter	Compact in structure, these are typically used for coarse filtration and are installed at pipe branches.
	Basket Type Filter	Primarily used for high-precision filtration, such as fine filtration of main engine lubricating oil.
