Marine Cast Iron Y Type Strainer
Installation and Maintenance Tips
Flow direction: Ensure the medium flows in the direction indicated by the arrow marked on the valve body.
Access for maintenance: Leave sufficient space around the strainer cover to allow cleaning and servicing without dismantling the piping.
Routine checks: Periodically inspect the strainer element for debris accumulation and check the sealing condition of the cover gasket.
Overview
Product Description:
Marine Cast Iron Y Type Strainer is a key component used to protect pipeline equipment. It is primarily installed upstream of hydraulic control valves, pressure reducing valves, drain valves, and similar devices. Its core function is to filter out solid impurities from the fluid medium, thereby preventing wear, clogging, or malfunction of downstream equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, and instrumentation.
Design Standard: Generally complies with JIS F7220‑1996.
Test Standard: Tested in accordance with JIS F7200‑1996.
Body Material: Valve body and cover are typically grey cast iron (FC200).
Strainer Element Material: The strainer screen is usually stainless steel (SUS304) for good corrosion resistance.
Nominal Pressure: Flange standard is generally JIS B2220 – 5K; hydraulic test pressure is 1.05 MPa.
Typical Applications: Widely used in marine piping systems for seawater, fresh water, cooling water, ballast water, etc.
