A marine angle valve is a globe-type shut-off and throttling valve in which the inlet and outlet ports are arranged at 90 degrees. This built-in change of direction eliminates one pipe elbow, saving precious installation space and reducing pressure loss in cramped machinery spaces, pump rooms, ballast tanks, and bilge lines. Designed for rugged shipboard service, the valve handles seawater, freshwater, fuel oil, lubricating oil, bilge water, fire-fighting water, and other compatible fluids. Built to mandatory maritime codes, it delivers reliable isolation and flow control under the shock, vibration, and corrosive conditions typical of the marine environment.

1. Standards & Classification Approvals
Our marine angle valves are type-approved by major IACS classification societies, including DNV, LR, ABS, BV, CCS, NK, and RINA. Design, manufacturing, and testing follow internationally recognized norms:

  • JIS F 7301 – Cast iron 5K angle valves for shipbuilding

  • JIS F 7303 – Bronze 5K angle globe valves for shipbuilding

  • ISO 5208 / API 598 – Pressure testing and seat tightness evaluation

  • Material traceability per EN 10204 3.1, with chemical and mechanical properties certified to ASTM, JIS, or EN standards
    Where a fire-safe construction is required for specific SOLAS-related systems, documented design enhancements can be supplied.

2. Engineered Design & Construction

  • 90° angled body: streamlined flow path minimizes turbulence, erosion, and pressure drop compared to a straight globe valve plus a separate elbow.

  • Bolted bonnet & rising stem: allows easy on-board inspection, packing adjustment, and clear visual position indication (open/closed).

  • Renewable seat: seat rings can be replaced without removing the valve body from the pipeline, drastically cutting maintenance time.

  • Sealing options: metal-to-metal (bronze/stainless steel) for reliable high-temperature service; resilient inserts (PTFE or reinforced NBR) where zero leakage is required on clean service.

  • Gland packing: adjustable stuffing box with PTFE-impregnated or graphite packing, approved for the operating temperature range.

Internal trim (disc, seat ring, stem) is always selected for galvanic compatibility and long-term durability in the intended medium.

4. Pressure & Temperature Ratings

  • Pressure classes: JIS 5K, 10K, 16K – equivalent to PN6, PN10, PN16. ANSI Class 150 can be offered as an alternative.

  • Temperature range:

    • Bronze: up to 205 °C

    • Cast iron: up to 220 °C

    • Stainless steel: up to 300 °C (service-specific limits apply)

  • Testing: every valve undergoes a hydrostatic shell test at 1.5× rated pressure and a seat tightness test at 1.1× rated pressure, as required by classification rules.

5. End Connections & Size Range

  • Flanged: JIS B2220 (5K/10K/16K), ISO 7005 PN6/PN10/PN16, or ANSI B16.5 Class 150.

  • Threaded: BSPT or NPT for smaller sizes, typically below DN50.

  • Size availability: DN15 (½″) through DN300 (12″), covering practically all shipboard piping needs.

6. Documentation & After-Sales Support
Every valve shipment includes:

  • Works certificate and material certificates (EN 10204 3.1)

  • Pressure test records

  • Classification society certificate (when requested)
