A Marine Angle Globe Valve is a globe-type stop valve with its inlet and outlet ports arranged at 90 degrees. It combines the dependable shutoff and throttling capability of a globe valve with the space-saving directional change of an angle body, eliminating the need for a separate pipe elbow. The internal design features a rising stem, a guided disc, and a renewable seat ring, making it ideally suited for frequent operation and reliable isolation in seawater, ballast, bilge, fuel oil, lubricating oil, steam, freshwater, and compressed air systems throughout the vessel.

1. Design Standards and Global Compatibility
Our Marine Angle Globe Valves are manufactured to comply with all major international shipbuilding standards, ensuring seamless integration into your vessel's piping system:

  • DIN/EN Standard: Designed to DIN 86058, with PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40 ratings and flange dimensions per EN 1092-1. Testing per EN 12266-1.

  • JIS Standard: Designed to JIS F7301 (bronze), F7305 (cast iron), and F7311 (cast steel) series for 5K, 10K, and 16K pressure classes. Flanges per JIS B2220/B2239. Testing per JIS F7400.

  • GB Standard: Designed to GB/T 587 (bronze), GB/T 590 (cast iron), and GB/T 586 (cast steel). Ratings PN6 to PN25 with flanges per GB/T 2501. Testing per GB/T 600.

  • ANSI/ASME Standard: Designed to ASME B16.34 for Class 150, 300, and 600 with flanges per ASME B16.5. Testing per API 598.

2. Marine-Grade Material Selection
We offer a comprehensive range of body and trim materials to match each shipboard fluid and operating condition:

  • Body & Bonnet:

    • Bronze (CuSn10, BC6): Inherently corrosion-resistant for seawater, freshwater, and air service. Non-sparking.

    • Cast Iron / Ductile Iron: Economical and robust for general water, bilge, and oil services. Protected externally by high-build epoxy coating.

    • Cast Steel (WCB, SCPH2): For high-pressure, high-temperature steam, hot oil, and fire main systems. Protected by heavy-duty coating or hot-dip galvanizing.

    • Stainless Steel (CF8M, SCS14, 1.4408): Premium resistance to seawater, chemicals, and hygienic requirements. Maintenance-free external surface.

  • Trim (Disc & Seat Ring): Renewable, precision-lapped seating surfaces in stainless steel (304/316), bronze, or Monel for metal-to-metal shutoff. Soft-seat options (PTFE or reinforced EPDM) are available for bubble-tight closure on clean fluids.

  • Stem: Polished stainless steel with external acme threads and an integral back-seat shoulder for packing replacement under pressure.

  • Packing & Bonnet Gasket: Graphite, PTFE, or synthetic fiber packing with an adjustable external gland. Bonnet gaskets are selected to suit the service temperature and pressure.

3. Key Technical Features and Operational Benefits

  • Angle Pattern Globe Design: The 90-degree body layout eliminates one pipe elbow, reducing installation space, weight, and the number of flanged joints, directly lowering potential leak paths and installation cost.

  • Positive Back-Seating: When the valve is fully open, the stem shoulder seals firmly against a back-seat bushing in the bonnet. This allows the packing to be replaced or retightened with the system under pressure, enhancing safety and minimizing downtime.

  • Guided Disc and Renewable Seats: The disc is closely guided throughout its entire travel, preventing chatter and vibration even during throttling. Both the body seat ring and the disc are replaceable, significantly extending the valve's service life without cutting it out of the pipeline.

  • Clear Open/Closed Indication: The rising stem and handwheel provide instant visual confirmation of the valve's status. For larger sizes and higher pressure classes, gear operators are supplied to reduce manual operating torque.

  • Actuator-Ready: An ISO 5211 mounting pad or a customized top flange can be provided for direct mounting of electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators to suit remote and automated systems.

5. Quality Assurance, Testing, and Certification

  • Rigorous Testing: Every valve undergoes a hydraulic shell strength test at 1.5 times the rated pressure and a seat leakage test at 1.1 times the rated pressure, in strict accordance with the applicable standard (EN 12266-1, JIS F7400, GB/T 600, or API 598). Back-seat integrity is verified.

  • Material Traceability: Full EN 10204 Type 3.1 (or equivalent) material certificates are supplied for the body, bonnet, stem, and trim components. Each valve body is permanently marked with the manufacturer's stamp, nominal size, pressure rating, material grade, heat number, and the governing standard for complete lifetime traceability.

  • Classification Society Approvals: Our Marine Angle Globe Valves can be supplied with type approval certificates from all major IACS classification societies—including DNV, LR, BV, ABS, CCS, NK, KR, and RINA—ensuring immediate acceptance during newbuilding, dry-docking, and periodic surveys.
