Overview
1. SCOPE
This standard specifies the bronze 10K rising stem type gate valves (hereafter referred to as "gate valves") used for ship's steam piping, fresh water and feed water piping, fuel oil piping, and lubricating oil piping.

2. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FLUID CONDITION AND MAXIMUM WORKING PRESSURE
The relationship between the fluid condition and the maximum working pressure for gate valves shall be as shown in Table 1.

3. CONSTRUCTION, SHAPE, AND DIMENSIONS
The construction, shape, and dimensions shall be as shown in Fig. 1. The tolerance for body wall thickness (a) shall, in principle, be +15% / -10%. However, if the calculated tolerance value is less than 0.5mm, the tolerance shall be 0.5mm.
4. MATERIALS
The materials for gate valves shall be as follows:
(1) The body, bonnet, cover nut, disc, and stem shall be as shown in Fig. 2.
(2) Other materials shall, in principle, be as shown in Fig. 2.
5. INSPECTION
The inspection of gate valves shall be carried out in accordance with JIS F 7400, performing the following tests (1) to (5):
(1) Material inspection
(2) External appearance inspection
(3) Dimensional inspection
(4) Assembly inspection
(5) Pressure test at the following test pressures:
(a) Seat water leakage test: 1.54 MPa
(b) Body water pressure test: 2.1 MPa
6. DESIGNATION
The designation of gate valves shall be in accordance with the name, nominal size, and type or their abbreviations. However, the standard number may be used instead of the name.
Example: For nominal size 15:
Shipbuilding Bronze 10K Rising Stem Type Gate Valve or FSJ 10 015 or JIS F 7368-15
(Note: FSJ indicates Shipbuilding Rising Stem Type Gate Valve; 10 indicates nominal pressure; 015 indicates nominal size.)
7. MARKING
The following items shall be marked on the surface of the body:
(1) Nominal pressure and nominal size
Example: 10K-15
(2) Manufacturer's name or its abbreviation
(3) Year of manufacture or its lot number
