Deck Scupper

Deck Scupper

Deck Scupper is a drainage fitting installed on ship decks to collect and discharge rainwater, seawater, and other liquids from deck surfaces.

Designed for marine and offshore applications, Deck Scupper provides an effective drainage solution by connecting deck drainage areas with discharge pipelines or overboard outlets.

Deck Scupper is commonly installed on:

  • Main decks

  • Weather decks

  • Cargo decks

  • Hatch cover areas

  • Superstructures

  • Offshore platforms

The scupper allows accumulated water to be removed quickly, helping prevent:

  • Deck flooding

  • Water accumulation

  • Corrosion caused by standing water

  • Unsafe working conditions

Overview

Working Principle of Deck Scupper

Deck Scupper works as a drainage outlet that transfers water collected on the deck surface into the ship drainage system or directly overboard.

Operating Process:

  1. Rainwater or seawater accumulates on the deck.

  2. Water flows toward the scupper opening.

  3. The scupper body guides water into the outlet passage.

  4. Water enters the connected drainage pipe.

  5. The drainage system removes water from the vessel.
