Bronze Marine Storm Valve
Marine bronze storm valves primarily serve as one-way check valves, used in shipboard wastewater discharge systems to discharge wastewater and prevent seawater from flowing back into the ship.
Installed on the ship's side, the valve normally remains closed due to the combined force of a spring and the weight of the valve disc. When the pressure of the wastewater inside the ship is sufficient, it pushes the valve disc open to discharge the wastewater;
Once external water pressure increases (such as from wind and waves), the valve disc automatically closes, effectively preventing seawater from flowing back into the ship's compartments and ensuring the vessel's safety.

Advantages of Use
Bronze is naturally resistant to seawater environments and is not prone to electrochemical corrosion or stress corrosion cracking, resulting in a service life far exceeding that of ordinary carbon steel.
The release of copper ions inhibits the attachment of marine organisms such as barnacles and algae to the valve body and sealing surfaces, reducing the risk of blockages and maintaining flow capacity.
Bronze has moderate hardness and, when containing elements such as lead, exhibits good self-lubricating properties. The low coefficient of friction between the valve disc and seat ensures smooth opening and closing with minimal wear on the sealing surfaces.
Design Features
The storm valves body and bonnet are made of bronze, which offers excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and is suitable for the harsh marine environment.
The valve disc is typically made of bronze and closes automatically via a spring or gravity, preventing backflow of the medium.
The seals are made of corrosion- and wear-resistant NBR or PTFE materials to ensure the valve’s sealing performance.
