Overview
Materials of Construction:
The construction of a sounding head varies by type, but generally involves a sturdy body and a brass sealing cover.
• Type A (Flush Type): The body is made of Brass, with a Brass cover and an NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) gasket
• Flush Type (Alternative): The body can also be made of Carbon Steel, with a Brass cover, NBRgasket, and a WCB (Weldable Carbon Steel) welded plate
• Type C (Lift Type): The body is Carbon Steel, with a Brass cover, NBR gasket, and a WCBwelded plate
Types and Their Applications:
Sounding heads are categorized into three main types, each designed for a specific deck material or function.
Type A: Inject Head for Steel Deck – This is a flush-type head designed to be welded directly onto a steel deck, providing a smooth, low-profile surface.
Type B: Inject Head for Wood Deck – This type is specifically designed for installation on wooden decks.
Type C: Lift Inject Head – This is a lift-type head, which may feature a mechanism that allows the cover to be lifted or hinged open for access
