Basket Type Strainer
Basket type strainers are primarily used to trap solid particles and impurities. They are typically installed upstream of pumps, valves, or instruments to protect these critical components from damage. Common applications include oil transmission pipelines, food processing lines, and pharmaceutical production systems.
Overview
Maintenance:
1. The core component of the strainer is the filter insert, which consists of a housing and a stainless steel wire mesh. The stainless steel wire mesh is a wear-prone part and requires special protection;
2. After the strainer has been in operation for a period of time, impurities will accumulate inside the filter insert, causing the pressure drop to increase and the flow rate to decrease. These impurities must be removed from the filter insert in a timely manner;
3. When cleaning out impurities, take special care to ensure that the stainless steel wire mesh on the filter element does not become deformed or damaged. Otherwise, a damaged filter core will prevent the filtered medium from meeting design purity requirements, potentially causing damage to equipment such as compressors, pumps, and instruments;
4. If deformation or damage to the stainless steel wire mesh is detected, replace it immediately.
Material Selection:
For non-corrosive media such as water and oil, a carbon steel housing may be used;
For corrosive media such as acid, alkali, and salt solutions, stainless steel (304, 316L) or higher-grade alloy materials must be used.
The filter mesh is typically made of stainless steel.
